Penncrest is proving to be another force with which to be reckoned on the local diamond scene. Last week, the Lions showed their prowess by taking two out of three games in Central League play.

Even the setback was a good indicator of the squad’s capabilities. It is true that in that lone loss Penncrest came out on the short end of the score. However, the contest was a classic, a magnificent 1-0 pitcher’s duel against Springfield whose balance hung upon a razor’s edge.
Up until that fateful fifth inning during last Friday’s game against the Cougars it looked as if Penncrest might have had a perfect week by sweeping all three games it played.
